Nearly 200 police officers and 80 civilian employees make up the Guelph Police Service (2011 report).  Each public servant must have several conditions and go through a series of application phases to obtain a job. Starting in January 2020, there will be a new first step in applying for Ontario police. Hopeful candidates must pass their OACP exam and obtain a certificate in order to apply. As part of these negotiations, the Guelph Police Services Board conducted a thorough review of the police services being compared to ensure that salaries, social benefits and other collective agreements were representative and median. Court Services, for example, is a unit responsible for maintaining a safe environment for everyone in a courtroom.
The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) gives all Ontario residents the right to request information held by all police services. This right also requires that these police services protect all information, including administrative documents and personal information of all ontario residents.  The Guelph Police Service (GPS) is the Police Service of the City of Guelph, Ontario. GPS was created in 1827 with the founding of the city. With 323 members, the Guelph Police Service is the 14th. The largest municipal police service in Ontario and serves a population of approximately 160,000.  The Chief of Police is Gordon Cobey and the department`s headquarters are located at 15 Wyndham Street. The force is governed by the Ontario Police Services Act, under which a five-person civilian “Police Services Council” is responsible for the Guelph Police.
The Guelph Police Service is the 14th largest municipal police service in Ontario with 323 members and an operating budget of $US 45.6 million. The service is responsible for providing policing services to the more than 160,000 citizens of the City of Guelph and is based on the values of pride, service and trust. “The association is very pleased that both parties were able to freely negotiate a long-term collective agreement and did not have to resort to interest rate arbitration. There were a number of important issues that needed to be addressed and the association is satisfied with the outcome of the collective bargaining process. Both parties have worked hard to find common ground to address issues in the workplace and ensure our members are treated fairly,” said Matt Jotham, President of the Guelph Police Association. The staff of a police service includes different positions and units. Constable police is a position in which public servants develop relationships by interacting with the community. Through the prosecution and prevention of crime, this position allows public servants to ensure public safety.  Constable is not the only position or the only way for the inhabitants of the puppy region to fight crime.
Each year, several civilian positions are allocated, for example. B leadership and support positions. These job opportunities require specific skills and knowledge to adapt to the ever-changing frontline.
